We

| CRISIS
RESPONSE AND INTERVENTION (CRI) |
|
|
CRI
provides intervention, emergency response and advocacy
to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.
A Crisis Counselor is available 24 hours a day, seven
(7) days a week, including a 24-hour bilingual hotline.
We offer crisis counseling and intervention, needs assessment,
emergency shelter, assistance with restraining orders
and linkage to appropriate community resources. We also
accompany clients to medical facilities, police departments
and court as needed.
In
2008, The Coalitition responded to 200 telephone
calls; and had 120 personal contacts.

This
30-day emergency residential program for battered women
and their children provides food, clothing, essentials,
and medical assistance. Clients have access to individual
counseling, support groups, parenting classes, legal
advocacy and a job resource center. Children also receive
counseling and play therapy. Services are available
in English and Spanish. A screening interview is required
for admission.
In
2008, The Coalition served 178 clients; served
9,045 meals, provided transportation to 227 clients;
and responded to 991 Hot Line Calls.

This
county-approved program helps participants modify behavior
patterns and break the cycle of violence by learning
new skills around power and control, accountability
and communication. Men's and women's Spanish and English
speaking groups meet weekly for two (2) hours at various
locations throughout Ventura County. Participation can
be voluntary or court-mandated (a 52-week program).
In addition, we offer a 24-week male teen (18 years
of age and younger) batterers group.
In
2008, The Coalition had 230 clients attending these
group sessions.

The
Coalition offers comprehensive counseling services
to survivors and perpetrators of domestic violence and
sexual assault. Our MFT interns and trainees provide
individual, family and group counseling services. We
offer support groups for victims of domestic violence,
rape sexual assault, and incest/molestation.
In
2008, The Coalition provided 402 individual private
sessions; and had 252 attendees at the support groups.

offer this 15-week course for court-mandated and volunteer

Repeat
Offender Prevention Program (ROPP)
Created
for first-time juvenile felons and their parents/guardians,
the ROPP Program is designed to prevent recurring criminal
and adverse behaviors for adolescents younger than 15
1/2 years of age. Depending on various needs, the youths
are put into groups including anger management and conflict
resolution, substance abuse, teen empowerment for girls,
and victim impact.

Juvenile
Probation Services (JPS) Program
Similar
to ROPP, JPS is limited to those juveniles on probation
and designed to prevent recurring criminal and adverse
behaviors by adolescents. Our interns and youth advocates
provide numerous services including anger management,
substance abuse and teen empowerment groups, along with
individual counseling for those in need.
In
2008, The Coalition provided counseling services
to 703 youth.

| FAMILY
HARMONY PROGRAM (PARENTING) |

The
Family Harmony Program is a blending of various effective
parenting programs previously used for years at The
Coalition. The result is a unique 12-week curriculum
that is applicable to virtually every parenting situation
involving children of all ages. The Family Harmony Program
was designed to create a more nurturing home environment
in which all family members can thrive.
In
2008, The Coalition had 323 parents participating
in our Family Harmonoy Program.

| CHILD
ABUSE INTERVENTION PROGRAM (CAIP) |

|
This
county-approved program assists participants in improving
parenting skills to prevent violence. Participants gain
positive family dynamics by establishing a belief system
based on mutual respect and communication. Co-ed Spanish
and English language groups are held two (2) hours weekly
at The Coalition. Volunteer or court mandated
parents may attend the 52-week program.
In
2008, The Coalition held 84 CAIP sessions.

To
help our clients who are victims of domestic violence,
sexual assault or stalking, The Coalition's Legal
Services Program provides licensed legal assistance
for immigration under VAWA legislation and for family
law cases. Among the services offered to our clientele
are limited scope representation in court, court documentation
preparation, and instruction for pro per court appearances.
In
2008, The Coalition provided legal services to 1,600
clients.

| TRAINING,
EDUCATION & OUTREACH PROGRAMS |
|
| The
Coalition offers the only state-certified domestic
violence and sexual assault Crisis Intervention Training
program in Ventura County. The training is mandatory for
all Coalition staff. Training sessions provide a wide
selection of Continuing Education Units to healthcare
and social service providers, while The Coalition
itself enables excellent opportunities for MFT internships.
